LinkedIn video upload lifecycle

How LinkedIn member video uploads work in Postifys: connection, media URL, async processing, and the Company Pages limitation.

Reviewed: 2026-08-10

Answer: Postifys publishes to LinkedIn member profiles (text/image/video/link). Upload is accepted asynchronously; Company Pages are not currently supported.

Lifecycle

  1. Connect a LinkedIn member account in Postifys.
  2. Submit member post with video URL (proxyDownload if needed).
  3. Postifys accepts the job and processes media.
  4. LinkedIn provider processing may continue after API acceptance.
  5. Confirm in Post History and on the member feed.
Limitation: LinkedIn Company Pages are not currently offered. Do not promise org-page publishing.

What this means in a real publishing workflow

LinkedIn video publishing is a staged operation: register the asset, upload the bytes, wait for processing when required, and create the member post that references the asset. A successful registration alone is not a published post.

Recommended implementation

  1. Select the connected LinkedIn member profile.
  2. Provide a stable video URL and descriptive post text.
  3. Allow Postifys to complete upload and provider processing.
  4. Track the final Postifys history state and LinkedIn response.

How to verify the fix

Postifys currently documents member-profile publishing. Do not assume Company Page support unless that organization destination is explicitly available in your connection list.

Operational check: Test with one item, confirm the final destination and Postifys history state, and only then enable the recurring workflow. Keep the returned Postifys ID beside the source row so every result remains traceable.
